Barbs Book Buddies is a community of authors, parents and readers celebrating children’s literature. Through interactive storytelling events, Barb connects her audience to meaningful stories that inspire the next generation.

“Are you a Book Buddy? I am! A Book Buddy is someone who believes in the magic & power of children’s literature! I often ask friends, authors and sometimes strangers, “What is or was your favorite children’s book?” Their reactions always energize me. Seeing the spark in their eyes, the wonder and joy that comes from asking such a simple question motivates me to continue sharing the magic of children’s literature. We are all Book Buddies, from childhood to old age, and isn’t that wonderful?”

Barb Sanchez is an educator with nearly forty years of experience in the public school system. Her passion for connecting children with meaningful stories led her to create Barb’s Book Buddies, bringing independent children’s book authors together with young readers.

Barb believes deeply in the transformative power of books and reading. Stories invite us to reflect, empathize, and appreciate diverse experiences. She’s equally passionate about outdoor exploration and nature, recognizing that books and nature are complementary teachers offering inspiration and deeper understanding.

Her vision for Book Buddies is to create a space where families celebrate stories, foster a love of reading, and share in interactive experiences that bring books to life.
